Hi, I’m Chrissy.

My family moved to Southern Maryland right before I entered first grade. We stayed in the area through 2014 before moving to different places. Throughout those last few years, I did go off to college in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

But I always came back to Southern Maryland.

Growing up here as an angsty teenager made me pretty unhappy. I was tired of seeing all the same things and the same people. I would dream of moving to an entirely new place with plenty of new things to explore. Maybe an bustling city or even the Pacific Coast?

In 2014, I got that chance. I moved to Las Vegas, NV.

Fast forward to 2017. After a few years of living in the desert (and developing allergies?!?), I could not wait to get out. Being close to the glitz and glam of the Las Vegas Strip was not for me.

I missed so many things about living in a place with a slower pace and the sense of community. I missed trees, water, and nature. I missed fresh produce at the farmer’s market. I missed the smell of honeysuckle in the air on a hot summer day.

I couldn’t believe how much I missed a place that (before) I loved to hate.

But my husband and I found our way back to Southern Maryland again with brand new eyes.

I explore Southern Maryland and all it has to offer. I find new (and old) places to see. And I’m excited to share these places, hot spots, events, and experiences with you!

I am a Southern Maryland blogger & Realtor®. I am proud to have a real estate business that is built on excellent service, integrity, and giving back.

I donate 10% of my commissions to the charity partner of my client’s choice, Last Chance Animal Rescue & NewStory. I believe that every person and animal deserves a safe home; and I am happy to share the joy of giving back with all my clients!

Let me share a quote with you from my all-time favorite show: Parks and Recreation.

“Look, I’m not crazy. I know Pawnee isn’t Paris or London or Chicago, but it’s a great place to live and work. And serving the goofballs in this town is an honor and a privilege. And yes, every town claims it’s diner’s waffles are the best in the world, but somewhere, in some town, there really are the best waffles in the world. So delicious, and rich, and golden brown that anyone who tasted them would decide never to leave that town. Somewhere those waffles exist. Why can’t it be here?” – Leslie Knope/Amy Poehler

Now, I’m more crazy about coffee than waffles. So much so, the I created the SOMD Coffee Passport! But the point Leslie is making about Pawnee, I believe, is just as true here in Southern Maryland. There are so many things, places, and people that make this area truly special. All you have to do is go out and explore.
